Discover Ybor City: Tampa’s Vibrant Historic District

by Nicolas A Scaron PLLC

Ybor City is one of Tampa's most distinct neighborhoods. It's the city's Latin Quarter, founded in the late 1800s by cigar manufacturers, and that history still shapes the whole area.

The red-brick streets and historic architecture make it worth just walking around. You'll find shops, art galleries, and restaurants reflecting the neighborhood's Cuban, Spanish, and Italian roots. The Columbia Restaurant is a must if you haven't been, it's Florida's oldest restaurant and known for its Spanish and Cuban dishes.

If you're into history, the Ybor City Museum State Park covers the city's origins and the cigar industry that built it. And after dark, the neighborhood shifts gears with a solid lineup of bars, clubs, and live music.

There's also the Ybor City Saturday Market, with local crafts and fresh produce, if you're around on a weekend. Worth a visit whether you're going during the day or at night.
